Your personal clergy

Not your typical Cantor

Cantors are the “sweet singers of Israel.” But singing is just a portion of my varied skills and abilities.

Ellen Stettner Serving the CommunityI am grateful that I was born with the blessing of a beautiful singing voice. I am equally grateful that I am a naturally skilled “people person.” People have always been touched by my gift of intuition and sensitivity to others. My sense of humor has led my students to label me as a “fun” teacher. I have patience, empathy, passion, loyalty and drive. My students stay connected to me throughout the years in spite of the physical miles that separate us. I have performed the b’nai mitzvah services of students whose baby naming ceremonies I performed 13 years earlier. I have stood under the chuppah with my former b’nai mitzvah students and officiated at their weddings. I really care—and that becomes obvious and meaningful to all. I want to be your personal clergy and everything that such a title implies.
